Consumer Reports: Tests Find 60 Percent Of Frozen Shrimp Contaminated With Bacteria 

A new Consumer Reports (CR) study released Friday found that 60 percent of 342 samples of frozen shrimp it tested contained Salmonella, Vibrio, Listeria, or E. coli, and 2 percent tested positive for the superbug MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).

For its new report, “How Safe is Your Shrimp?,” CR researchers bought 284 raw and 58 cooked shrimp samples for testing last March in 27 cities across the country from retailers such as Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Costco, Fry’s Marketplace, Hy-Vee and Sprouts Farmers Market. CR didn’t test fresh, never-frozen shrimp since U.S. consumers don’t buy much of that.

Christians Are Being Systematically Purged From The U.S. Military

If you are a Bible-believing Christian, there is no place for you in Barack Obama’s version of the U.S. military.  Christian service members all over the nation are being disciplined for reading their Bibles, talking about their faith publicly and encouraging others to live a moral lifestyle.  And just saying the name of “Jesus” at the wrong place or the wrong time while serving in the military is enough to spark a national controversy.  We live at a time when political correctness in America is wildly out of control, and thanks to Obama the U.S. military has become one of the most politically correct institutions in our society.  Things have gotten so bad that dozens of top officers that did not agree with Obama’s views have been forced out of the military in recent years.  The U.S. military is being transformed into an overtly anti-Christian institution, and for those of us that are Christians that is a very chilling development.

Dear Farmers: U.S. Is Now Importing Organic Corn To Satisfy Consumer Demand 

There are three things driving a surge in organic imports:

U.S. farmers have been systematically pushed into growing mostly GMO crops; grown primarily for fuel, animal feed and cheap processed foods.

Russia even used our food supply as an example for the EU to dump us and join them instead.

U.S. consumers are not only demanding fresh, organic produce as well as non-GMO convenience foods – but also want meat, dairy and eggs from animals that were fed non-GMO or organic feed.

Other countries primarily grow non-GE crops, and plenty of organic. They’ve got the goods and they reap the benefits of trade.

This is ridiculous, as the U.S. could not only use a valuable export, but could honestly use a supportive, in-house product. Yet again, we find ourselves outsourcing for staples. Shouldn’t our own farmers be benefiting from this rise in demand coming from their country? Yet again, farmers have been tricked and kicked by the very companies with which they sign agreements.

Shocking Images From Cameras On Texas-Mexico Border Capture Steady Stream Of Illegal Immigrants Sneaking Into The United State With Packages Of Drugs And Guns 

Cameras placed along Texas’ 1,200-mile border with Mexico have captured the stream of illegal immigrants sneaking into the country on a daily basis.

The network of more than 1,000 motion detectors, similar to those used to film wildlife, have been placed strategically in areas that have not been secured – where Mexican citizens can cross and evade capture with ease.

They helped border guards apprehend nearly 30,000 suspects and led to 88,400 pounds of drugs being seized in 2014 as part of Operation Drawbridge.

The system has also had a significant impact on Mexican cartels and their ability to smuggle narcotics, people and stolen vehicles between the two countries.

Drone 'Containing Radiation' Lands On Roof Of Japanese PM's Office 

Japanese authorities have launched an investigation after a small drone reportedly containing traces of radiation was found on the roof of the prime minister's office Wednesday, sparking concerns about drones and their possible use for terrorist attacks. The drone was about 50cm in diameter and had four propellers, carrying a small camera and a plastic bottle with unidentified contents inside, according to Tokyo's Metropolitan police department. The drone was also decorated with a symbol that warns of radioactive material, according to NHK.

The Roanoke City budget for 2015-2016 has been unveiled. Tonight there will be a hearing at the City Council Chambers where you can voice your concerns.

In an interview yesterday with WJBJ 7. Mayor Bowers said “the tea party should be proud… of what we have done over the last 6 years”

Really? Should anyone be proud of 300 million in debt, voting themselves a raise when Roanoke families are losing jobs, getting hours cut and having to survive on less, giving away millions in real estate to their friends, ignoring the storm water problem until raising taxes is their only solution, destroying the business viability of the city market building and spending 9 million dollars to do it, failing to budget properly for snow removal and having the street crews clear the snow from the mayor’s mother’s street before everyone else’s, and fostering an environment that has made Roanoke the highest crime city in the state according to FBI Stats?
